My Form Of Serving
Aug 11th, 2007 by Glenn Tan
Reading from the post of Alex Shalman’s blog.
His key sentence : What do you get by serving others?
My way of serving others is not a literally helping others kind of thing.Serving others is a personal meaning to everyone i suppose. Each has their own special way of doing things.
For me, i serve people such that i will do my best to compromise and accomodate.I choose this method because i feel that enemies of ours are not disasters, wars but people.
People is a very unique and yet dangerous species that we need to learn to deal with carefully. The lesson on Thin Slicing by “Blink” written by Malcolm Gladwell explains all.Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking
Furthermore, compromising with people is taking a look at their views at a slower pace, giving some thought about it and then giving way.As we can have different views, its better to avoid a conflict and direct it in one way instead of repelling each other.
What i can learn from this is that, i can learn to see other’s point of view.Making me understand why they decide that particular way.It helps me to weigh the issue and how it can help improve our discussion and relation simultaneously.
So this is my own way of serving others. What about you?

Giving can enlighten people’s life.
What do I think? I think that’s perfect! I think that if we facilitated communication, discussion and understanding than there would be no possible way that we could have wars in the world. Thank you for your service and contribution =)

Alex, its a great topic to write on and others to read.To know how they can serve the community in their own special way!
